6 WALKING Giant granite boulders, twisted snow gum forest and colourful wildflowers create a spectacular alpine landscape waiting to be explored. 10 kilometres of walking trails wind through the resort and connect to a wider network of trails in the Baw Baw National Park. There is a walk to suit everyone, from a short loop around the Latrobe trail to a full day guided expedition to magical mushroom rocks. Self-guided audio tours of the walking trails provide visitors with compelling tails of the mountains rich history and detailed descriptions of the local flora and fauna.
3 CYCLING The mountainous terrain of the Baw Baw ranges attracts all three cycling disciplines; road cycling, cross-country mountain biking and downhill mountain biking. With a maximum gradient of 20%, the Mt Baw Baw access road is considered the steepest section of sealed road in the country, offering a challenge to both amateur and professional cyclists. 10km of trail offers an excellent experience for cross-country mountain bikers. For those seeking an adrenalin rush, the mountains downhill trail will not disappoint. Cross-country and downhill mountain bikes are available to hire from Mt Baw Baw’s Adventure Hub.
